BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 5th MAY 2008
Approximately 1000 visitors visited Landguard Fort, Felixstowe on Bank Holiday Monday, to view, in glorious sunshine, Fran Crowe's thought provoking 'Walking to Save the Sea' exhibition. She was joined for one day only, by the above guest artists. All the work shown referred in some way to our desperate need to care for and respect our environment. These photographs of Judith Chestnutt's cast office-waste, children's clothing were taken (by Chrissy Norman) during the above exhibition.

Moyra reported that she had been very busy on every weekend, welcoming people to her Open House
25 Whichelo Place on the Hanover Trail. Visitors were heard to remark -
"This is a very friendly house with very high quality work on display."
"What lovely line drawings! Do you use a pen direct? you have inspired me.I'm going home to draw."
"Do you take commissions? Oh good, I'd love some portraits of my grandchildren. "
"I love the strong horizontal lines in these photographs. These are really good. I have always thought that I could take good photographs but these show me why I am not a professional'
"The ceramic jugs and mugs are just exquisite. I'm going to treat myself."
"In this work the artist has achieved that rare quality of painting light. She has real talent..it is an outstanding picture."

Judith Chestnutt's piece for this exhibition was entitled 'I can sew a rainbow.' Cast handmade paper zip fasteners, in all the colours of the rainbow (junk mail pulps with no added pigments) have attached labels, which tell of the qualities we, in our culture, associate with each particular colour.
The paper zips are uncannily realistic - but are a reverse image, encouraging the viewer to look more closely at the design, purpose and surface texture of seemingly ordinary, every day objects.
