The recycling ethic is very much part of her philosophy. Judith uses both natural fibres (nettles, reeds, straw, cotton etc.) or recycled junk mail pulps to portray, in largely abstract form, the Suffolk sea and landscapes.

Her methods have been documented and illustrated in ‘Artists Colour Manual’ by Simon Jennings, published by Collins ( 2003).
'The work is many layered, the origins of her pulps evident in the textured surfaces, where, when looked at closely, printed fonts of the original junk mail or office waste can often still be seen.'

'Also embedded in the surfaces, along with, at times, extra fibres and found materials, are shadows of selected, printed texts, relevant to the individual pieces of work.'

The long fibres of natural materials have an intrinsic beauty. Cotton fibres are chosen to make the papers of the swirling seas in the 'Wave" series.
'In the 'Washing line 'Series, timeless children's clothing seemingly blows in the wind.
Details such as pockets and buttons, seams and fastenings gradually emerge, as the 'cast, office waste pulps and selected texts' dry, forming finished, thought provoking images.'
